Client of Emily

Emily joined Rayden Solicitors in August 2022 as a paralegal, following the completion of her LLM LPC with BPP University. Emily graduated in 2021 with an LLB in law with first class honours from the University of Kent. Emily was promoted to a Trainee Solicitor in September 2023 and qualified as a Solicitor in September 2025.

Emily has a personable approach with clients and has experience in a range of private family matters including divorce, financial claims that arise on divorce and child arrangements. She works closely with Rosalind Fitzgerald on complex international children matters, such as surrogacy and relocation, as well as financial matters such as pre-nuptial agreements. Emily has also assisted Abby Westell with  intervenor applications supporting parties who have a financial interest in the assets of a separating couple, who are in the process of financial remedy proceedings.

Emily’s studies in family law during both her postgraduate and undergraduate degrees is where her interest began and prospered. As a student, Emily volunteered with the BPP Law Clinic and Kent Law Clinic, working closely with the solicitors in providing free legal advice to the local communities. This experience alongside her studies is what influenced Emily into pursuing a career in family law.

Emily is based in our Bishop’s Stortford office.

Rayden Solicitors have been very helpful, accommodating, trustworthy and considerate. Rosalind Fitzgerald and Emily Cannell went above and beyond to help me. They were the only ones who gave me hope in making the impossible happen. Both are very understanding, considerate, accommodating, trustworthy, brilliant and take things to heart. They made me feel comfortable and helped me until the very end. Best solicitors indeed!
