Zoe undertakes all aspects of family work, including divorce and the resolution of finances on breakdown of marriage, private children matters, pre and post nuptial agreements, cohabitation – both in terms of agreements to regulate living arrangements and also where there is a dispute on relationship breakdown, and obtaining protective orders in cases of domestic abuse.
Zoe has many years of experience in family law and her practice has been varied. Throughout her career Zoe has worked on a number of high value and complex matrimonial matters including offshore and family trusts, companies, significant pension provision, cases with an international element and capacity issues. The vast majority of her cases have various different types of assets and also include arguments in relation to non-matrimonial property. Zoe also has recent experience of a complex notice to show cause application with issues of capacity and waiver of privilege (both without prejudice and legal professional). Equally, Zoe also deals with clients with less significant wealth, and this often involves being creative in order to find satisfactory solutions that enable both parties to move on.
Zoe has also experienced a number of private children matters ranging from formalising arrangements for a child to cases involving complicating factors such as mental health issues and addiction where there may be Children’s Services involvement. Zoe also regularly deals with cases where arrangements for children need to be varied given their evolving needs or wishes.
During her career, Zoe has spent a significant amount of time in court (or, latterly, in private FDR hearings or arbitration), giving her invaluable insight into and expertise in family litigation. Whilst she is confident in the court arena, Zoe appreciates the uncertainty of litigation and is committed to resolving matters for clients in the most cost effective and constructive way. In most cases this involves keeping matters away from court if at all possible and, having recently trained in collaborative law, Zoe is looking forward to working with individuals who share a desire to work together amicably to resolve whatever family law issue they face.
Zoe prides herself on attention to detail but couples this with looking at the bigger picture and focusing on solutions by understanding her clients’ aims and objectives so that she can strategically plan with these in mind. She is also very mindful of how difficult and emotional any family law matter can be for my clients and aim to guide and support them through this.
Outside of her role at Rayden Solicitors, Zoe is co-chair of Hampshire YRes and also sits on the Dorset Resolution committee. This means that, in addition to being committed to resolving matters in an amicable and child-centred way, she has strong connections with many other family lawyers in the region which is beneficial for constructive resolution.
Zoe will be based at our St Albans office for a short interim period before moving to our soon-to-be-opened Salisbury office.
