Two of the Associates at Rayden Solicitors, Lehna Gardiner and Rachel Nicholl, have set up a cycling club for young professionals in the St Albans area.
Lehna and Rachel are both keen athletes and lovers of the great outdoors. Rachel competes in the sport of triathlon at a high level and has represented Great Britain in the age-group sprint World Championships in Edmonton (2014) and Chicago (2015), the age-group standard World Championships in Rotterdam (2017) and the European Championships in Geneva (2015) and Lisbon (2016). In May 2018 she qualified for the ITU Standard Distance Triathlon World Championships in Lausanne in 2019.
Lehna is a keen runner and amateur triathlete. Last year she completed a 100km ultra-marathon. She has also cycled across Britain and in 2017 completed her first Ironman 70.3 triathlon in Weymouth. In May 2018 Lehna was first in her age group and second female in the Hertfordshire Triathlon.
The aim of the new cycling club is to bring together young professionals who live or work in the St Albans area and share a love of cycling. The first ride took place on 26 May 2018 with the club meeting outside the Beech House on St Albans high street. The route took in some of Hertfordshire’s most picturesque countryside and passed through local villages including Kimpton, Wheathampsted and Sandridge. The ride ended at Baked Nation on Victoria Street in St Albans for a well-earned coffee, cake and chat.
