Two new Partners and Legal Director join the business and Partner Promotion

We are delighted to announce the latest developments across the business, as Rayden Solicitors continues with its significant growth programme. The firm welcomes three new Partners to the Partnership team and a new Legal Director to the business.

Former Legal Director Robert Micklem, based at the Beaconsfield office, is promoted to Partner with immediate effect. Robert, who joined the business in late 2021, has been supporting Partner Julian Bremner and recently promoted Partner Rupi Rai, in continuing to cement the reputation of the Beaconsfield office in the Buckinghamshire region and beyond.

Alongside Robert’s promotion the firm is delighted to welcome a further two new Partners who have joined the business today. Emma Nash has been appointed as a Partner in our London Bridge office, and Nazia Rashid has been appointed to join Partner Stuart Clark in our Loughton office. Both Emma and Nazia are very experienced family lawyers, highly regarded by their peers, and have both joined Rayden Solicitors from respected London firms. Emma was most recently Head of the Family Department at her previous firm and Nazia was a Partner in the family law team at a multidisciplinary firm, and where she was also co-chair of the firm’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

They are both recognised in Legal 500, with their professional peers commenting:

“Emma Nash is an amazing solicitor in both domestic and international divorce and family law matters. I don’t think that I have met anyone else who gives so much of themselves to their clients in helping them achieve their goals.”

“Nazia is a fantastic lawyer who goes the extra mile.  She is a fierce and capable solicitor. Nazia is particularly good at financial remedy cases and is a recognised specialist in Islamic law.”

Alongside recognition in the Legal 500, Emma is also a Recommended Family Lawyer in Spears500 and the CityWealth Leaders List, and has been shortlisted for Family Law Commentator of the Year in the Family Law Awards, and is currently shortlisted for Family Lawyer of the Year in the CityWealth Future Leaders Awards.  In 2021 she also launched The Family Law Language Project, aimed at making family law easier to understand and more accessible by improving the use and understanding of language.

Nazia has previously been a winner of the Family Law Awards Associate Solicitor of the Year and also shortlisted for Rising Legal Star at the British Muslim Awards 2022.  She has been recognised by Resolution as joint winner of the EDI Champion of the Year Award 2022 for her work on equality, diversity and inclusion and as co-chair of the EDI Committee at her previous firm.

In addition to the appointment of the new Partners, the firm is also delighted to welcome a new Legal Director to the St Albans office. Charlotte Southworth, who has over 10 years’ experience as a specialist family lawyer having qualified at a top London law firm, joins the firm from a large regional competitor.

Charlotte specialises in divorce and financial issues with a particular experience in medium to high-net worth cases with significant business interests and property investments.

Senior Partner Katherine Rayden says, “The Partners and I are delighted to announce Robert’s promotion, which is extremely well-deserved, and in addition we are very excited to welcome Emma, Nazia and Charlotte to the business. All three appointments are significant hires for the firm, and it is yet further testament to our reputation that we can continue to recruit such highly respected practitioners from large London and regional firms. We look forward to seeing all their careers go from strength to strength with us.”
