  2. A writing task based on a legal scenario;
  3. A legal research task; and
  4. An interview with two Legal Directors/Partners

The successful candidate will have strong academics, a strong interest in family law, a good eye for detail and have strong oral and written communication skills.

In addition to the more traditional routes for becoming a qualified solicitor (LPC / SQE), we are this year offering suitable candidates the opportunity to undertake the graduate solicitor apprenticeship SQE route to qualification. This route is available to candidates who have a legal degree but have not yet commenced their LPC or SQE. One of the main differences between this and the more traditional LPC / SQE routes is that the graduate solicitor apprenticeship requires a 30-month training programme, during which time you undertake SQE1 and SQE2 as well as “on the job” training. During the 30-month training programme, you will work four days a week for the firm and have one day a week to study at BPP.

Should this alternative route be of interest to you, please note that all apprenticeship applications will need to be submitted to BPP on or before 18th July 2025. We will support you through that process.

If this route is of interest to you, please can you confirm this within your covering letter. I attach below a useful Law Society website link which has more information about the apprenticeship should you be interested:

Please note that training contract positions will be for a fixed two-year contract (unless undertaken under the graduate solicitor apprenticeship scheme – 30 months) and we will not be offering a reduction in length of the training contract for prior paralegal/work experience, whether in relation to a training contract being done following an LPC or SQE. This is for various reasons, including to ensure that you all receive as full a training contract as possible and to hopefully stand you in the best chance of successfully applying for any newly qualified positions that may be available at the end of your contract.

The closing date for applications will be 28th March 2025.
