Chambers UK 2020 Band 1 – another accolade for Rayden Solicitors

Rayden Solicitors has been ranked once again as a Band 1 firm for family law in the highly regarded Chambers and Partners Guide 2020.

The Chambers Guide, an annual list of the best firms and lawyers UK wide, is compiled following research and interviews conducted by more than 85 independent consultants who have in-depth knowledge of the marketplace.

The Guide highlights Rayden’s expertise in family matters, noting that Rayden Solicitors is a boutique family law firm known not only for matrimonial finance and private law children matters, but also having the ability to advise high net worth individuals and foreign nationals on complex separation and asset division cases, often including trust structures, overseas assets and business interests. The Guide also acknowledges that the solicitors are equipped to offer alternatives to litigation, like mediation, and able to advise on prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Professional market commentators also reflect that: “They have great attention to detail and clients feel like they have been completely looked after.”

In addition to the Band 1 ranking for the firm as a whole, Partners Katherine Rayden, Julian Bremner and Paula Butterworth also retain their rankings as Notable Practitioners.

Katherine Rayden, Senior Partner, retains her Band 1 ranking and is described by a source as “the doyenne of family law,” while another interviewee notes: “She’s very much at the top of her job and the best individual in the area.” She acts for high net worth clients on complex matrimonial finance matters.

Julian Bremner is ranked once again Band 2 for his advice on matrimonial financial matters and is also acknowledged for his practice as an arbitrator. A source highlights his practical point of view, saying: “He takes no nonsense and is just going to take an appropriate and sensible approach to things.”

Paula Butterworth, retaining her Band 2 ranking for a further year, acts on a variety of matrimonial cases, including financial proceedings, and is trained in collaborative law. Sources appreciate that “she’s really resilient and pragmatic, and she just deals with things.”

Senior Partner, Katherine Rayden says “We are delighted once again to retain our Band 1 ranking with Chambers UK.  We are extremely proud of our reputation and the endorsement of our expertise that this ranking provides.  It has been a very good year for the firm as we were also ranked earlier this year for the first time in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide.  Both these accolades are testament to our expertise and the high calibre approach of all the team.  It is hugely important to us to be recognised once again by our industry peers, and our clients, for the quality of work we deliver.  We will continue to pursue excellence, delivering first rate work and providing the best service, with care and commitment, to our clients.”
