Specialist family law firm Rayden Solicitors, with offices in St Albans, Berkhamsted, Beaconsfield, Bishop’s Stortford and Hampstead is pleased to announce the appointment of Partner David Lister, who joins the firm from Mishcon de Reya. David’s appointment takes effect from April 19th and he will be based in Rayden’s Hampstead office.

He has advised a diverse range of clients, including senior business executives, entrepreneurs, City professionals, large estate owners, members of the music industry, and also overseas clients with financial claims in both divorce and separation. David is a Governor At Large of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL) and is ranked in the leading industry guides including Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500 and Spears 500, with his professional peers commenting:
“Clients love him and he manages to make stressful situations bearable. He is a fabulous lawyer.”
“David has very good instincts for cases,” and “… is brilliant. He has a winning sense of humour and a real spark which clients love.”
David’s appointment tops another year of stellar growth for Rayden Solicitors. The business continues to go from strength to strength and has outperformed projections, whilst navigating the difficult year that many have faced during the COVID pandemic. During the last 12 months Rayden Solicitors has recruited across all areas of the business – in total the business has welcomed 21 new joiners, including 8 solicitors and 6 paralegals, and has increased total staff numbers by 22%. Turnover looks set to increase by 23 %. In addition, the firm has opened its fifth office in Bishop’s Stortford which is getting well established into the local community, and expects to open a sixth regional office in the next few months.
Senior Partner Katherine Rayden said, “The Partners and I are absolutely delighted to announce David’s appointment, and welcome him to the firm following his illustrious career at Mishcon de Reya. David is an exceptional family lawyer, very highly regarded and we feel proud to have recruited him from such a well-respected and renowned competitor.
“We are also extremely proud of our performance in the last 12 months and our ability to continue to grow. Our ambitious growth plans have always been underpinned by a robust recruitment strategy, ensuring we recruit the highest calibre solicitors to our team. The last 12 months have proven that we can continue to expand the business even in the most extreme of circumstances. To recruit so many new members of staff and to open another office is testament to the commitment of all our team, and also testament to our reputation that we can attract talented practitioners like David. We are looking forward to David working with our Hampstead colleagues to build upon the early successes of our London office, which opened in late 2019.”
