Rayden Solicitors has presented local charity, the St Albans and Hertsmere Women’s Refuge, with a cheque for over £4,000. The money raised was the result of a year of successful fundraising by the team, most notably at the Rayden Solicitors annual quiz night.
The St Albans and Hertsmere Women’s Refuge was chosen by the staff at Rayden Solicitors, St Albans, in an office wide vote as their Charity of the Year for 2018. The local charity offers support for women and children affected by domestic violence and the money raised by Rayden Solicitors will go directly to fund a specialist children worker.
Project worker Trish Beaven, who accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity, said “Domestic abuse and violence has a devastating effect and impact on all victims, whether women or children and SAHWR supports all victims of domestic abuse and their children. We offer accommodation and community support working towards recovery and building resilience from the abuse suffered. We are very grateful to Rayden Solicitors for supporting our work.”
Rayden Solicitors Senior Partner, Katherine Rayden, said “The refuge is an extremely important local charity working so hard to help vulnerable women and children who would otherwise have no support. We have been delighted to help them with our fundraising.”
