Rayden Solicitors appoints Mary Kaye as Partner

Expansion plans into the Midlands

We are delighted to announce yet more exciting developments for the business. Mary Kaye joins the firm as a Partner, and Rayden Solicitors will be broadening its reach into the Midlands with the imminent opening of the firm’s newest office in Birmingham.

The appointment of Mary is a very significant hire for the business. Mary is a hugely respected family lawyer with over 25 years’ experience. She has previously been President of the Birmingham Law Society, and was most recently a Partner at Shakespeare Martineau, based in their Birmingham office. Mary is also a member of The Law Society Children Panel, and Council member for Birmingham at the Law Society for the last 8 years.

Mary is experienced in all areas of family law, both nationally and internationally, including financial matters; Pre-Nuptial Agreements; Post-Nuptial Agreements; Cohabitation Agreements and divorce. She has a particular emphasis on serious children cases, and is also recognised for her expertise in handling complex financial proceedings including family companies, partnerships, trusts and pensions with assets in excess of £1 million.

Mary stands out amongst her peers in terms of conducting her own advocacy, and is often singled out for her expertise in complicated cases often with a jurisdictional nature. Her particular expertise in international divorce law often involves legal and financial disputes in different jurisdictions. She has represented clients living permanently or temporarily overseas across a broad range of territories including the Far East, South Africa, Canada, France and Guernsey.

She is recognised in both Legal 500 and in Chambers & Partners rankings guides as: “…. a very knowledgeable and capable lawyer who interacts well with clients. Her expertise includes financial matters involving pensions, trusts and insolvency, as well as children matters.”

To complement Mary’s appointment we expect to be opening a Birmingham office in the very near future. Our new Birmingham office will broaden the reach of Rayden Solicitors, as the firm increases its presence across the South East and into the Midlands. The Birmingham office will be the firm’s ninth office – Rayden Solicitors currently has offices in St Albans, Berkhamsted, Beaconsfield, Bishop’s Stortford and Loughton, and two offices in London – in Hampstead and the most recently opened office in London Bridge.

Senior Partner Katherine Rayden says, “The Partners and I have great pleasure in announcing Mary’s appointment and we are absolutely delighted to welcome her to the firm. She is an exceptional family lawyer with a superb reputation, and we are incredibly proud to have recruited Mary. Mary’s appointment is testament to our reputation and ability to attract talented practitioners, and continue to expand the business. We are also very excited about the imminent opening of our ninth office in Birmingham and look forward to getting to know the local business community, and benefiting from Mary’s expertise and her knowledge which will help us to build upon the growing success of the firm.”

Rayden Solicitors offer initial fixed fee meetings at all our offices. This meeting enables the client to gain an understanding of the law as it applies to their situation, likely outcomes and how Rayden Solicitors can best support them.
