Financial Manager

Full Time or Part Time

St Albans office

Rayden Solicitors are currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Manager to work on either a full or part-time basis in our St Albans office. The successful candidate will have a key role in providing strategic support with business planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management as well as preparing the annual budget.

Key Tasks for this role:

  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports, as requested, to provide the Director with regular financial and management information
  • Manage and ensure effective and efficient accounting operations including, but not limited to, payroll, accounts payable, VAT, billing, accounts receivables and cash management.
  • Responsibility for cash management including maintaining bank accounts, authorised signatories, recording of cash receipts, management of petty cash, client trust processes and procedures.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations for all client accounts
  • Ensuring clients receive receipts in respect of payments made
  • Prepare cash statements for clients as required
  • Maintain all client account transactions in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules including designated deposit accounts
  • Sending wire payments and inter-account transfers via Internet Banking
  • Dealing with accounting queries and assisting Partners, Associates and secretaries in that regard.
  • Liaise with the firm’s auditors in relation to the Solicitors Accounts Rules annual audit
  • Act as deputy COFA

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years finance/accounts management experience in a law firm
  • ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified with good knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules, Solicitors Code of Conduct and Anti Money Laundering Requirements
  • Analysis, problem solving and attention to detail
  • Strong written, analytical and spoken communication skills

  • Technical skills appropriate to processes within the Practice

Salary is competitive and holiday entitlement generous. This position could be full time or part time. If part time, the successful candidate would be expected to work between 25 – 35 hours per week, spread over 4-5 days.

Newly Qualified/Junior Solicitor – Maternity Cover

0-3 years PQE

 Full or Part Time

St Albans office

 Raydens Solicitors, an award winning family law solicitors, based in Hertfordshire, are looking for a 0-3 PQE solicitor to join the team on a 6 month maternity cover contract. The position will be based in our St Albans office.

 The successful candidate will undertake fee earning work and will actively manage a private law caseload under supervision. They will also ensure effective financial control of all work undertaken and will aid the development of firm in line with business plan and key strategies.  Providing accurate and appropriate legal advice, they will effectively represent the client and ensure their best interests.

We are looking for a family law specialist from a recognised law firm. We would expect that the successful candidate would manage their own work, with effective time management and attention to detail, coupled with the ability to work under pressure.

The position will start at the end of February 2017. Salary is competitive and holiday entitlement generous.

Secretary/PA

Full Time – Fixed Term Contract – 5 months

We are currently recruiting for a family law secretary to provide PA and secretarial support to our family law team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those wishing to continue their legal secretarial career within an award winning specialist family law practice.

We are looking for a confident team player who will:

  • effectively liaise with clients and other professionals as appropriate
  • ensure that all clients and external visitors are greeted appropriately and offered refreshments
  • provide accurate and timely administration of all matters arising from daily post/DX
  • organise meetings, conferences and book appointments
  • ensure accuracy of all work produced via audio typing
  • demonstrate competency in all software packages relevant to role
  • manage own work, productivity and quality of work including adhering to internal administration procedures

The hours for this role will be 9am – 5.30pm. Salary is competitive and holiday entitlement is generous.
